Are You Ready for Coaching?
It's true that many people could benefit greatly from a few coaching sessions. However, that does not mean that everyone is in the right place in their life for it.
Here are some key things to consider before entering into a coaching relationship:
1. Are you willing to move forward? This is a great question to ask yourself before contacting a coach. Coaching really focuses on your future and what your goals are. That is not to say that you will never explore your past and how you got there, but you won't spend all of our time in the past. Your coach might look to the past to uncover patterns or release outdated beliefs however, your focus should always be on the future.
2. Are you ready to commit to the work? Coaching can provide extreme and powerful results.... if you are fully committed. You will be committing to your coach that you will show up for your calls and you are also making a commitment to yourself that you will do the work necessary to reach your goals. This work is completely at your pace and should never overwhelm you... after all, they are your goals! Before you decide on a coaching relationship, ask yourself how committed you are to doing the work necessary to achieve your goals.
3. Are you willing to invest in this process? Ask yourself if you are ready to invest the money and time into this process. Coaching is a process and will take time to see those results. If you are invested in the process you will find that you are quicker to notice results, and more likely to add that extra effort between calls. As you start to see your successes piling up, you will find it is easier and easier to invest more energy, then you see more successes and so on..
