Challenge: Asking for what you need

"Oh my gosh, I can't believe you asked for my help! Definitely will not help in any way." - Said no-one ever.

Question:
Have you ever resisted asking for a favor because you're embarrassed or feel like you should be able to do it on your own? Don't want to impose on a friend or family member? What about when they ask you for a favor, what is your reaction?

From the biggest to the smallest, asking for help starts by admitting that you need it. Whether it is help with something at work or home, support in a personal goal, financial assistance etc.. It takes a lot of courage to ask for what you need. Admitting to yourself that you don't know everything is a big step and something you should congratulate yourself for. Knowing when to ask for help is incredible. Having the confidence to say "I really, really need some help" is strength not weakness. Needing help does not make you a bad person or any other type of person, it just makes you a person. Some times we find that we need help, and sometimes we are called upon to help others. This give and take is a beautiful exchange.

Challenge:
This week, I challenge you to find an area of your life where you could use a favor. Then, think of the person who would be perfect to help you with this. Whoever it is, imagine asking them and visualize what you want their reaction to be. How will it sound when you ask them for help? What will they say? How will you feel? How will it turn out? Go through all the details in your mind. Get yourself pumped up for this challenge and see if you can have some fun. Don't forget to express gratitude for the outcome! Be genuine and show that you are appreciative.
